The sensible small print.

1. Who you are buying from

The legal seller for direct website orders is Craig Law trading as Average Man Workbooks, a sole trader.

2. Products and descriptions

We aim to describe books and any included extras accurately. Images are for illustration and small differences in colour, print or finish can occur. Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights if goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for their normal purpose.

3. Prices and delivery charges

The current direct price of When Everything Gets Too Much is £11.99. UK postage and packing is £3.95 using Royal Mail Tracked 48, making the current total for one direct copy £15.94. The total payable will be shown clearly before you place the order. Prices may change in future, but an order already accepted will not be silently repriced.

4. Placing an order and payment

When direct checkout is enabled, it will make clear when you are placing an order with an obligation to pay and will let you check relevant order details before payment. Payment will be processed through the payment provider shown at checkout. A contract is formed when your order is accepted and confirmed.

You will receive confirmation of the contract in a form you can keep, normally by email, no later than delivery.

5. Delivery

At launch, direct orders are for UK delivery. We aim to dispatch within 2 working days. Orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48, which currently aims to deliver in 2–3 working days after dispatch for most UK addresses; this is a delivery aim rather than a guarantee. Unless a different period is agreed, legal delivery deadlines still apply. See the Shipping page.

6. Changing your mind

For ordinary online purchases of physical goods, you normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to tell us you want to cancel, then another 14 days to return them. You do not need to give a reason. You can cancel by emailing craig@averagemanworkbooks.co.uk or by using our model cancellation form.

For a change-of-mind return, you are responsible for arranging and paying for suitable return postage and packaging. See the Returns page for the full process.

7. Handling the book before a return

You may inspect the book in the way you reasonably could in a shop. If handling goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods and this reduces their value, the law may allow a deduction from the refund for that diminished value. For a workbook, examples can include writing in it, completing exercises, marking pages, tearing or folding pages, staining it or otherwise materially reducing its resale value. Merely opening the parcel does not by itself remove the cancellation right.

8. Refunds after cancellation

Where the statutory cancellation right applies, we refund payments due under the law, including the cost of the standard outbound delivery service. Because Royal Mail Tracked 48 is our standard launch delivery option, that means the £3.95 standard delivery charge is included in a valid full-order cancellation refund. We may wait until the goods are returned or you provide legally sufficient evidence of return. Refunds are made within the legally required period and normally to the original payment method.

9. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or not-as-described goods

Your statutory consumer rights are separate from the change-of-mind policy. If a direct order arrives faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, email craig@averagemanworkbooks.co.uk. Where the law requires it, we will cover reasonable return costs and provide the appropriate refund, replacement or other remedy.

10. Amazon and other retailers

If you buy through Amazon or another retailer rather than directly from Average Man Workbooks, that retailer handles the transaction, payment, delivery and return process under its own terms and your statutory rights.

11. Website and wellbeing content

Average Man Workbooks provides books and general self-guided wellbeing information. Website content is not diagnosis, medical treatment, therapy or a substitute for professional or emergency support.

12. Copyright and intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the books, writing, artwork, branding, downloadable material and website content belong to Craig Law / Average Man Workbooks and/or their respective rights holders. Buying a copy for personal use does not give permission to reproduce, resell, distribute or republish substantial parts of the material.

13. Liability and legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow it or removes mandatory consumer rights. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales; mandatory consumer protections that apply to you are not taken away by that wording.
